Branding.

Recent branding for a Podiatry and Chiropody business, the aim for the brand was to above all have a clean,
clinical, modern, friendly character and tone of voice.

Robert Breer exhibition.

I visited the Balticmill gallery in Newcastle yesterday and was suprised to see that there was a Robert Breer exhibition on the top three floors. Apparently this is the most comprehensive collection of his work ever exhibited and shows a full range of works beginning with his early abstract paintings inspired by his personal hero Piet Mondrian (http://www.pietmondrian.org/). Following this, the exhibition shows a good range of Breer's animation perhaps the most famous aspect of his work, showcasing his early development in stop-frame animation, through to his later animations where he uses a combination of photographic imagery but also visuals in a wide variety of different media. On the top top floor there in the main gallery space Breer's floating sculptures are exhibited, this is a combination of different objects which at first appear static but when viewed closely can be seen to be moving slowly around the space, keeping the staff busy when they get stuck on the walls.

This exhibition is too good an opportunity to be missed by anyone not only as it showcases an artists full career but also because it is accessible whether you are interested in abstraction, animation or just strong graphic imagery. The exhibition is running until the 25th of September.

Inspiring work and an interesting   http://grainedit.com/2010/11/02/julia-rothman-interview/ interview with illustrator Julia Rothman in Grain Edit magazine at the moment. Also a good link showing a proper ghetto way to produce seamless patterns using handrawn sketches...
